“The Cattle Drive consists of sixty longhorns along with other motorized groups and riders that parade from downtown Amarillo to the Tri-state Fairgrounds in a procession that harks back to the emergence of Amarillo as a premier cattle shipping market in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Route of the cattle drive can be found on the link above. Asleep at the Wheel – Starlight Ranch Event Center

“Founded in 1970, Asleep at the Wheel has been part of the American roots music landscape for more than 50 years. Although the band got its start on a farm in Paw Paw, West Virginia, Asleep at the Wheel became a cornerstone of the Austin, Texas scene upon its arrival in 1973. Inspired by Western swing and honky-tonk country, the band has accrued 10 Grammy Awards. In the fall, a career retrospective recorded with the current lineup — and a few special guests — will carry the band back onto the road, where they’ve remained a staple for five decades.”

Friday, June 17th | 8 PM
Koe Wetzel & William Clark Green – Starlight Ranch Event Center

“Just before closing time at any bar in the world, certain songs will play, and you know the artist right away (no ma’er how many drinks you’ve had). With whiskey in his glass, smoke in the air, a head full of stories, and a guitar in his hands, Koe Wetzel writes those kinds of songs. Brewing a homegrown blend of grunge, country, Americana, and anything else he pleases, the Texas-born, singer, songwriter, guitarist, and producer has unapologetically bulldozed a path of his own since 2015 without permission. For the uninitated, the music sounds like Waylon Jennings making a record in SeaIle circa ’91.”
